Privacy Notice

The Cell C Guy is an authorised Cell C franchise operation. This notice explains how personal information is collected and used when you browse the website, request sales assistance, apply for Cell C services, purchase a Tourist eSIM or contact our team.

Important: we collect only information needed for a defined purpose. Certain information may have to be retained where Cell C, RICA, tax, fraud-prevention or other legal requirements apply, so deletion rights are not absolute.

1. Information we may collect

Contact details such as name, email address and mobile number.
Sales information such as the deal, upgrade, port, SIM-only or business service you are interested in.
Application and RICA information where required, including identity details, nationality, South African address information and supporting documents.
Transaction information needed to process a payment. Card credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by this website.
Technical information such as browser/device type, pages visited, referring source and campaign parameters. Analytics is loaded only after the relevant privacy choice.

2. Why we process information

We process information to respond to enquiries, help customers select Cell C products, complete applications and upgrades, comply with RICA and other legal obligations, process payments, prevent fraud, provide support, attribute leads to marketing campaigns and improve the website.

3. Who information may be shared with

Where necessary for the service requested, information may be shared with Cell C, the relevant authorised franchise/store entity, payment processors such as PayFast, hosting and communications providers, analytics/advertising providers where you have consented, and professional or regulatory parties where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

4. RICA and identity documents

Identity and address documents submitted for SIM registration are collected for RICA and activation purposes. Access should be limited to staff or service providers who need the information for that process. We retain information only for the period required by applicable law, Cell C processes and legitimate operational or dispute-resolution needs.

5. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Necessary storage is used for security and site functionality. Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics are used only after analytics consent. Marketing pixels are used only after marketing consent. Analytics events are limited to website usage and conversion behaviour; application identity documents, signatures and other sensitive RICA information are not intentionally sent as analytics event data. You can change your choice at any time.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, restrictive browser security headers, access controls and data-minimisation practices. We will never ask for your banking PIN, password or one-time password (OTP) through this website. No internet system can be guaranteed absolutely secure, so suspected incidents are investigated and handled in line with applicable legal obligations.

7. Your POPIA rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, object to certain processing, request deletion where no legal retention obligation applies, or withdraw consent for consent-based processing.
